Hello All,

 

            YES!!! It is almost time for our next KAFE (Kentuckianna Alternative Fuels & Energies) large group meeting. As announced at our June meeting our next meeting will be on Saturday 6 September 2008. The meeting will start at the usual time of 3:00 PM Louisville time. Again we will be meeting at the home of Bill & Karen Karrer. We have plenty of room for everyone on our farm and we will have no time restrictions! Once again, the weather will be great and we will be serving BBQ chicken and pork with the trimmings!

 

            Here is the current plan. If you have a display or demonstration that you wish to set up, feel free to come as early as 12 noon on the day of the meeting. Heck, if you just can’t wait and you want to just hang around, feel free to come as early as noon also. We will try to start serving food no later than 2:00PM. The formal part of the meeting will start at 3:00PM. Our formal part of the meeting will be reports from the small groups and where they are with their projects. We want to hear as much about failures as we do successes so that everyone can gain as much knowledge as possible. Again, we will try to limit the formal meeting time to 2 hours as usual, but won’t need to be quite as strict. When the formal part of the meeting adjourns at about 5:00PM we will still have plenty of time for individual demonstrations and viewing of displays. Additionally, once we start serving food, we will continue to serve as long as the food holds out, so come with an appetite!! The whole thing will be over when the last person goes home.

 

            Now, what do you need to do? First, you need directions to our farm. It is:

661 Highway To Heaven, Taylorsville Ky. For great directions, follow the Map Quest link included here, http://www.mapquest.com/mq/4-R4*AspAdYTs3rV2B. Once the map loads, choose the “Aerial Image” of the map. The red star indicates our street address. It is pretty close. Find the next driveway on the left; that is where you want to be. Now that you know how to get here, bring others with you so that they too can share in the fun and ideas. Bring a display or demonstration to share with others. Bring a dish if you wish. Anything from vegetables to desert, it will be eaten. Finally, drop me an email no later than 3 September with your best guess as to how many will be in your group so that we can better plan for food. Let me know if you are bring a dish and what it is. Let me know if you will be displaying and or demonstrating and what your needs may be. At least, bring yourself.
